The 27 Club is the name given to a group of musicians who have died at the young age of 27, and usually at the height of their career. Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and the latest addition to this ground breaking goup - Amy Winehouse, are just to name a few influential artists on this list.

Metal & Ink

The recurring feeling of wanting, or more needing a tattoo or piercing or some sort of gratifying disfiguration of my body, has called upon me yet again. Why is body art/piercing so addictive? Why do we feel we need another one? Well, it beats me. All I know is that I like, maybe love piercings and tattoos, especially tattoo's, as long as they are tastefully done and not too emo/scary convict looking. As tattoo's are too expensive for my unemployed behind, I'm going to get the top of my right ear pierced to 'satisfy my craving' - lame kfc quote, i know. But never fear, I'm not going to turn out like one of those goth's walking down the street that hates every human on the planet. As winter is quickly approaching and my Uni holiday's have started, I decided to spend my Tuesday whilst curled up on the couch with a cold (wahh, poor me right?!) hunting down some winter woollies that I desperately need to buy for the up n coming season. My only problem is a steadily decreasing bank account and the fact that I have just resigned from my job. These problems aside, I am desperate to get my hands on some of the above trends. Wish me luck! I think it's time to get selling on Trade Me!

In The Hood

As the day went on and the jugs went down, there were more delete worthy pics than keepers, but it was a fun day nonetheless!

I Just Want To Be Wonderful..

A tribute to the late great Marilyn Monroe. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have quite the collection of Marilyn Monroe paraphernalia so it just seems natural to have a post dedicated to the late beauty. These are just a few of my favourite photos of her. One of the few actually beautiful women to grace the silver screen and magazines alike. Such a babe!

Canon Locked and Loaded

So I just purchased my first Digital SLR camera tonight, and am super excited to start using it (in 2 hours time when the battery is fully charged, yawn). As a photog student at high school, I have missed photography a great deal and have finally decided to take it back up as a hobby. Lack of funds prior to this buy have always landed the ever wanted DSLR on a wishlist, now thanks to family and friends who spoilt me with money on my 21st a few weeks ago, the Canon 550D is now my most prized possession - second to my macbook pro of course.

Just Another Friday

Having encouraged one of my BFF's to start a blog a few drunken nights ago, I thought I'd give this whole blogging thing a go myself. Here I am, sitting at home on a dreary Auckland Friday night with work at 8.30am tomorrow (technically today) - what better way to use my time than to start Handful of Clouds.


I am a 21 year old Aucklander interested in Fashion, Interior Design, Architecture, Photography and basically anything else that intrigues/inspires/surprises or plain looks cool. Heavily affected by the despised yet loved 'Travel Bug' I aim to throw some future travel experiences into the mix as well.

Please forgive me if this blog starts off a bit shaky, even Blog Superstar's like Rumi Neely and Jane Aldridge had to start somewhere right? So here goes.
